Following a close start, Team USA was able to execute down the stretch to pull of the 33-point win (119-86) over Australia. See just how effective Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler were in today’s victory:

After blending in early on, Carmelo Anthony was able to make some solid contribution’s to USA’s 33-point win beginning with his first-half 8 points (3-5 FGA-M), 2 rebounds. Anthony would build on that with a solid 3rd quarter. His consistent tough play on the boards and dead on shooting would get him on a roll. A roll he would continue on a catch and shoot 3 from LeBron James, which he drained of course. A beautiful transition bucket, with an opportunity for a 3-point play, would give Carmelo his 15th point of the game- despite the missed free throw. Melo would put the exclamation point on a suffocating Team USA run as he slammed it home for the team’s last bucket of the game. Anthony finished with 17 points (6-12 FGA-M), 4 rebounds and 1 steal as USA downed Australia 119-86.

Tyson Chandler started the game on a good note, throwing it down on an alley-oop from LeBron James. Unfortunately, that would be just 2 of 6 points for the reigning DPOY as he made minimal impact on today’s game, yet again. Kevin Love, who struggled early on in the Olympics, is now on a tear- posting a double-double tonight (10 points, 11 rebounds) and essentially doing all the work down low. Chandler, who was expected to be right down there with Love doing all of the dirty work, played just 9 minutes and had a disappointing 6 points, 2 rebounds. Playing with confidence, Love doesn’t appear to be slowing down, so it will be interesting to see Tyson Chandler’s role and impact moving forward.
