Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Carmelo Anthony are the faces to watch for on August 22nd in New York for the ”Obama Classic”, a Barack Obama campaign fundraiser event. According to USA Today an e-mail from the Obama campaign urges donors to give $3 or more and be automatically entered for a chance to win tickets to the star-studded event. While Melo, among other current players (Joe Johnson, Sheryl Swoopes, Kyrie Irving, Vince Carter, Jamal Crawford, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce, Austin Rivers, Rajon Rondo, John Wall and more) are scheduled to take part in some sort of basketball action, USA Today notes that Jordan is only scheduled to take part in a dinner. Bummer.
