linmelo Carmelo Anthony Explains Ridiculous Comment
Carmelo Anthony had the media in a frenzy today when word of his unclear “ridiculous” comment, in reference to Jeremy Lin’s contract offer from Houston, spread like wildfire. Before Team USA’s practice at George Washington University yesterday, Carmelo Anthony was asked about teammate, Jeremy Lin’s offer sheet from the Houston Rockets. He said what was on his mind, but as it has before, what he said just came off all wrong. “It’s not up to me. It’s up to the organization to say they want to match that ridiculous contract that’s out there.”

Carmelo Anthony had the chance to explain himself tonight when he was asked about his characterization of Lin’s contract as being “ridiculous” following Team USA’s exhibition game tonight- and he did. Anthony said, “It was ridiculous for them to do what they did, as far as throwing that out there and making it tougher on us to sign him back. It’s just a matter of them figuring it out at this point.” He also went on to say he hopes the Knicks can find a way to keep Lin. “I hope we get it done, man. I would love to see him back, honestly. I would definitely love to see him back. With Jeremy, I know he definitely wants to be back in New York & Dolan definitely wants him back.”

After being accustomed to New York, Carmelo wasn’t surprised at all by the way his comment blew up in the media, “I always get backlash. It’s nothing new. It is what it is.”
