Are the Knicks now leaning towards not matching Jeremy Lin? It started out as a questionable Tweet from Mark Haggard, a WPDE NewsChannel 15 broadcaster in South Carolina. According to Haggard, “[Raymond Felton] says a deal is about to be completed sending him back to the NY Knicks. Felton also said the Knicks deal with Jeremy Lin is off.” Although no word on the Jeremy Lin accusations, Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports is now confirming that the Knicks are “close to obtaining point guard Raymond Felton in sign and trade with Blazers”. If Felton is added to the Knicks who have already signed veteran point guard Jason Kidd…where does that leave Jeremy Lin? Spears is reporting that Jeremy Lin “appears close to being a Houston Rocket”. Up to this point, the Knicks were guaranteed to sign any offer for the overnight superstar. The offer, which has yet to hit Glen Grunwald’s hands is a 3 year/ $25.1 million deal from the Houston Rockets. The plot now thickens with the sudden news of Raymond Felton returning to New York where he averaged 17 points and 9 assists.
