watsondenver Source: Bulls To Part Ways With CJ Watson
According to Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD, the Chicago Bulls will not pick up CJ Watson’s $3.2 million option for the 2012-2013 season, which will make him an unrestricted free agent.  This doesn’t come as a surprise, since the news of Kirk Hinrich agreeing to a 2 year/$6 million deal with the Bulls on Sunday morning.  CJ Watson played a solid role of filling in for Derrick Rose and his various injuries last season – he averaged 10 points and 4 assists in 49 games – 25 of them as a starter.  He’s gauged as a solid backup around the league and should be in high demand when the Bulls release him.  However, according to Kennedy, the Bulls are inquiring trade options before the July 10th deadline on his option.  However, the Bulls would need to pick up his option in order to trade him.  Although many fans are arguing that Watson is a better option than the addition of Hinrich, it’s a shame that Watson had to go out with this final play as a Chicago Bull:
