Despite reports today that Jason Kidd was close to signing a 3-year/$9M contract with Dallas, Marc Stein reports that he has decided to leave the Dallas Mavericks and join the New York Knicks. Instead, Kidd will join the Knicks for a similar deal. Since the contract can’t actually be signed until July 11th, it’s still possible he could land in New York via a sign-and-trade. The 39-year-old, 18-year veteran, will be a great mentor for either Jeremy Lin, or Raymond Felton- if the Knicks decide to go that route.
