jameswhite2 Knicks Sign Forward James White

The New York Knicks have signed forward James White to a guaranteed veteran’s minimum contract. White, who averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists last season, has played in Italy the last two season with Dinamo Sassari and VL Pesaro.

He’s played just 10 NBA games between the Spurs and the Rockets but appears to be very athletic. Kevin Keatts, current assistant at Louisville, had some very reassuring things to say about the 6’7 SG/SF. Keatts, who coached White at Hargrave Military said, “He’s by far the most athletic kid I’ve ever coached. He’s a freak of nature. Not a great shooter but can handle the ball.”

James White and the Knicks have agreed on an offer sheet for a one-year deal for the league’s minimum of $854,000 which cannot be completed until July 11th.
