nash21 Knicks Closing In On Deal For Nash

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knicks have emerged as the front runners to land 2x MVP Steve Nash. The New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns are in the “critical” stages of executing a sign-and-trade that would give Nash a 3yr/$27-30M deal and send Iman Shumpert, Toney Douglas, and 3 low money players (Jerome Jordan, Josh Harrellson, Dan Gadzuric) to Phoenix.

According to Marc Stein, the Knicks are now trying to find a third team to join the proposal to avoid giving up their 1st round pick, elite defender Iman Shumpert. Stein also reports that the a source close to the Knicks thinking said, “They don’t want to trade (Shumpert), but they will if they have to. They want Nash.” As expected, the Knicks are extremely hesitant to deal a future star in this league for an expiring 38-year-old.
