ESPN writer, Jared Zerlinger, got a chance to speak with unrestricted free agent Steve Nash at last night’s Galaxy S III launch in New York City. When asked about the possibility of landing in the Big Apple, Nash said he would weigh an offer from the New York Knicks, should they choose to make one.

“The Knicks are a great franchise and I live in New York City (each summer), so I’d definitely consider them if they were interested,” said the 2x MVP at the Samsung event in Manhattan.

NBA legend and MSG Analyst, Walt Clyde Frazier, was also in attendance, and he was quick to let Nash know, “We need you to come to New York!” Nash responded by saying he was “flattered” by the comment.

Andre Miller, Jason Kidd, and Raymond Felton are also among potential veteran free agents the Knicks could sign, but it all depends on the early-bird rights decision which will likely not go their way. If the players union loses, the Knicks will only have veteran’s minimum contracts to offer free agents.

The 38-year old also noted he wants to play two or three more years and won’t make a decision until after free agency begins on July 1st. According to insiders, Nash will also consider his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, the Miami Heat, and the Brooklyn Nets- if Deron Williams doesn’t re-sign.

“I want to wait and see what’s actually on the table. I’m open and excited. I’m looking at every possibility right now.”
