shumptarget Iman Shumpert: The Target Date Is January
After undergoing successful surgery to repair his torn ACL just a month and a half ago, Iman Shumpert is finally back on his feet. The Rookie was expected to miss 6-8 months, and after telling the NY Post yesterday “the target date is January“, it looks like it will be closer to 8 months.

Shumpert signed autographs at an NBA Nation event at South Street Seaport on Sunday where he informed the post of his progress. “It feels great. The Rehab is going well. I’ve got a great training staff with me, and I trust them 100 percent. I’m going to them Monday through Friday, and on the weekends I just ice it and do regular stuff.”

He also touched on the difficulty of watching the playoffs after the Knicks first round exit to the Miami Heat. “That’s how things go, but next year there won’t need to be any motivation for me to go hard and do better in the playoffs.”

All looks well for the young talent as he looks to be handling the injury well. His target date of January sounds like a smart one, it’s easy for young players to get anxious and come back earlier than their body will allow them- but we all know that just leads to other injuries.
