jackson Phil Jackson: I wasnt going to take the job, thats for sure.
In a recent interview with HBO’s “Real Sports”, 11x NBA champ Phil Jackson trashed the Knicks in every way imaginable. In the interview, that will air Tuesday at 10 p.m, the former Knick called “New York Special”, and that’s the best it got. He went on the call the Knicks roster “clumsy” and claimed that Knicks stars Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony are not a good fit.

“There’s just too much work that has to be done with that team. It’s a little bit of a clumsy team.”

“They don’t fit together well. Stoudemire doesn’t fit together well with Carmelo. Stoudemire’s a really good player. But he’s got to play in a certain system and a way. Carmelo has to be a better passer. And the ball can’t stop every time it hits his hands. They need to have someone come in that can kind of blend that group together.”

“If they called, it would open the door and they didn’t want to open the door.”

So either Phil Jackson really was never interested in coaching the Knicks, or he’s just offended that they never even bothered pick up the phone. Either way, I can personally say Mike Woodson will do great things in New York. Knicks fans have a lot to look forward to, including a full year of consistency, desire, and effort.
