derrickrosetaj Taj Gibson: Rose is improving quicker than people have expected him to improve

After a month of jet-setting between Brooklyn and Vegas, Taj Gibson is back in Chicago to get ready for the USA Select Team in July. Gibson is still rehabbing his ankle from the playoffs, “I turned it pretty good”, he told ESPN Chicago.  Therefore, he’s spent some time in the training room with D.Rose this month who Gibson says “is doing great…and improving quicker than people have expected him to improve”. It’s another positive statement made about the 2011 MVP who has yet to open up publicly since his injury.  ”He seems great…he’s the same old Derrick, not a step behind,” said Gibson of Rose’s demeanor.  Gibson added he believes his teammate will be back stronger than ever and hopes to use their captain’s pain as the team’s gain while he recovers, telling Bulls.com:

“He’s been pushing it and I saw him push through a lot of pain early.  He’s in there every day and he’s pushing it to the limits every time. I look forward to seeing our team take that energy and use it as a positive. Because every day, he’s yelling and he’s screaming from putting in so much effort trying to get his knee back. We need to see how much pain he’s going through and feed off it.

While we await the day for Derrick Rose to break his silence, it’s reassuring to hear that he is making great strides in his rehab from his peers and family.
