Not only is Derrick Rose getting support from his family who say he is “doing great”, but he’s also getting love from his other family, his NBA family. Derrick’s brother, Reggie Rose, told ESPN Chicago that Rose has received calls from Chris Paul of the LA Clippers as well as Mike Miller from his Eastern Conference foe, the Miami Heat. ”I think it’s made his level of comfort even better,” Reggie said.
Rose’s older brother added how impressed he has been with Rose’s attitude and progress since the injury that ended his playoff run on April 28: ”He’s actually doing great. He’s going real good, which surprises me. I thought he was going to be beating himself up. I’ve seen him beat himself up over a game that wasn’t his fault, just anything. He’s such a competitive guy. I just thought he was going to beat himself up because that’s the way he is, like he let someone down. He’s staying focused and has a positive attitude.”
Reggie said Derrick plans to continue his off-season like any other, training in California (we reported him at the airport this week in our Spotted! section) – but this time it will be a completely different breed of training as he looks to regain strength in his repaired left knee. Derrick Rose has still not publicly addressed his ACL injury.
