Scoop Jardine was one of nine draft prospects that worked out with the Knicks today in hopes of landing in New York with the 48th pick in the 2012 NBA draft. The Syracuse guard matched up against Xavier guard Tu Holloway in today’s workout, and Jardine feels he did real well in the matchup.
“It would be the easiest job in America, to throw passes to Melo and get out the way,” Jardine noted following this afternoon’s workout.
“It would be a dream come true. Actually going to Syracuse he was one of the reasons so to actually play alongside him would be great for myself and the opportunity to show what I can do because I’m with one of the best players in the world so that helps my confidence.”
Scoop also told reporters that Melo texted him often this season as Syracuse soared atop rankings. He also noted that he spoke with Carmelo & Baron Davis about the draft process and received some advice from the veterans.
The Knicks are in desperate need of a guard after losing Rookie Iman Shumpert, and Veteran Baron Davis to long-term injuries.
