drosebenched Bulls vs. Heat: Derrick Rose Postgame Remarks

Derrick Rose had one of the worst games of his career on Thursday night vs. Miami.  He was held scoreless in the first half for the first time in his career and finished the game with a career low 2 points.  For the first time, he wasn’t the Bulls go to guy in a tight ball game.  Here’s his postgame take on it:

“I’m just trying to get my rhythm back. I’ve had worse games than this.  I’m just happy we got the win, that’s the only thing that matters to me. C.J., along with everybody else came off the bench, played a great game, where, they’re the reason why we won.  It’s going to take a little time, tomorrow I’m going to come in and try to get my rhythm back playing 3-on-3 again.  Hopefully, I’ll be back soon. My mind was thinking something that my body couldn’t do, but I’ve never had a problem with getting my rhythm back for a long time, I should get it back pretty quick.”

Asked if he saw this coming (playing rusty):  ”No, (laughs), if I saw this, I wouldn’t play.  I thought I was going to come out and do alright. C.J. came in and played a great game, Kyle came in and played a great game, Taj.  Like I said, along with the other bench players, they came in and played almost a perfect game, and they’re the reason why we won.”

“I don’t know what I was, where, I think I only hit one shot, but these games right here, they’ll just make me a better player, a stronger player. My teammates had my back, and I’m just happy I have them on my team. I’m not worried about my stats or anything, I’m just trying to get back out there before the playoffs start.”

On C.J.’s game-tying shot:  ”It was great man, C.J.’s the luckiest guy on the team, in practice he always hits those shots.  When he had the ball, we all knew there was a chance it was going to go in.”
