2. J.R. Smith has a tattoo under his chin representing his nickname, “SWISH“.

3. J.R. Smith has “transformer” tattoos on both sides of his neck representing the Autobot and Decepticon (Yahoo). Under the Autobot reads “Live Now” & under the Decepticon reads “Die Later” (source). 

HIS REASON?

I was a fan when I was growing up. I got the tattoos about a month-and-a-half ago. I like the second ‘Transformers’ movie better. I like how they brought some of the old characters back.”

6. J.R. added a “Young Money“tattoo in 2009. For those of you wondering, it’s rumored that he is part of young money athletes. Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans is also rumored to be a part of it (Young Money).

7. Smith has an outline of the state of New Jersey titled “King of New Jersey“, referring to himself. Inside the outline is a basketball titled J.R. representing the part of New Jersey that he’s from (FullCourtPumps).

13. JR recently (late 2011) payed homage to Michael Jordan with a retired Jordan Jersey, Jordan 2′s and the Jumpman logo featured in the middle of his stomach (source).

14. He also has his hometown hockey team’s logo, the New Jersey Devils.

15. On the right part of his lower stomach, Smith has two portraits of children. This hasn’t been confirmed but J.R. Smith does have two small children. LA Clipper Chris Paul happens to be the godfather (espn).

I’m thinking about it, it’s definitely another part of my career, so definitely have to do something. I’m not sure if it’ll be a Knicks symbol or logo or something, but it’ll definitely be something to go along with the story.” (ESPN NY)

 

FUN FACT: J.R. Smith and his brother Chris are extremely close. Chris Smith is currently a Senior Guard for the Louisville Cardinals Men’s Basketball Team. Chris has a portait of J.R. on his back to tribute his older brother.
