linbw1 Humble Hero from Harvard leads Knicks past Lakers

If Jeremy Lin ever had a dream of playing in the NBA, this is exactly how it would turn out. In the biggest game of his career thus far, he propelled through some of the most elite players in the league to lead his team to their fourth straight victory (92-85). When asked by reporters last night what he thought about Lin’s recent play, Kobe responded, “I have no idea what you guys are talking about.” I think it’s safe to say that Kobe Bryant is now familiar with the new Knicks phenomenon.

Interested in his stat line? 38 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Remarkable, just remarkable. Jeremy Lin has now scored more combined points in his first 3 career starts than anyone since the ABA-NBA merger occurred in 1976. All of New York City has now jumped on the Jeremy Lin bandwagon, and for good reasons. With 4 games under his belt, he has proved that he can be the consistent productive Point Guard that the Knicks have been so desperately seeking. With Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire still out, Jeremy Lin continues to shock the world.

The Knicks will travel to Minnesota tomorrow to face the Timberwolves (13-14). I’m sure the hype will be surrounding the Rubio vs. Lin matchup. Ricky Rubio currently averages 10.9 PPG and 8.8 APG. Can Lin contain him? The real question is can Rubio contain Lin? I think Lin answered that question tonight.

The only thing we established tonight was getting four in a row and we’re going for five tomorrow.”

The Knicks now advance to 12-15. Not the best, but the Knicks are definitely headed in the right direction.
